These words are often thrown around and used to describe an overdrive pedal’s feel and tone, yet somehow most compact overdrive pedals feel constricted, choked, compressed and “artificial” for lack of a better descriptor…

From its initial release in late-2011, the Deuce Coupe shattered what was to be expected in a compact overdrive pedal, fully delivering on the promises of “amp-like response”, “incredible dynamic content”, “detailed articulation”, “high head-room”, and “uncolored tone.”

This was no happy accident.

Unique and novel topology, meticulous tuning and calculated, deliberate electronic design practices granted Jack Deville the ability to create and deliver what became a true cult-classic, known in many circles as: the Deuce Coupe.

Fast forward 12 years and the Deuce Coupe has been reborn!

Now boasting two soft-touch foot-switches, external Ultra Boost control, and modernized Click-Less™ true-bypass switching, the Mr. Black Deuce Coupe returns to deliver the same incredibly dynamic, naturally responsive overdrive and boost that garnered the reverence, admiration, and esteem that the original Deuce Coupe earned over a decade ago.

Three familiar and intuitive controls compliment the Deuce Coupe’s unique overdrive circuit, and the Ultra Boost control can now be adjusted on the fly, complimenting direct access to the Ultra channel.

Prudently matched impedances ensure the Deuce Coupe will maintain its provocative response regardless of placement in your effects chain (the Deuce Coupe does not need to be first in the chain to respond to your guitar’s volume control or picking dynamics), and it will also dole out LOADS of output when called upon. (Please note: at maximum settings, the Deuce Coupe will output over +56dB gain; that’s a LOT of volume!)

While many overdrive pedals sound good, and some even great, very few offer the astonishing clarity, natural feel, and dynamic response that the Deuce Coupe so effortlessly delivers.
